We look forward to welcoming you to the RANZCO Annual Scientific Congress 2022 to be held on 28 October – 1 November in Brisbane, Australia
To ensure you make the most of your Congress experience, please see below for some pre-arrival information.
Venue
Access Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) from Merivale Street via the stairs or ramp.

Registration and Information Desk
The Registration desk will be located on the ground level at the main entrance of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and will be open during the following times:
Friday 28 October: 11:00am – 5:30pm
Saturday 29 October: 6:00am – 5:30pm
Sunday 30 October: 6:00am – 5:00pm
Monday 31 October: 6:30am – 5:00pm
Tuesday 1 November: 6:30am – 11:30pm
You will receive a personalised QR Code a few days before the Congress starts. You can either print the email and bring it with you or have it ready on your phone and scan it on arrival.
Friendly staff will be on hand during the opening hours advised above, to answer your questions and provide information about the Congress, venue and surrounds.
If you have any changes to your registration, please advise the staff at the Registration Desk. Please note that any changes to your registration onsite may incur administration fees.
Name Badges
Each in-person delegate registered for the Congress will receive a name badge upon arrival. This badge will be your official pass and must be worn to obtain entry to all sessions, exhibition, catering and events.
Please note the below symbols that will appear on your name badge (if you have booked for that event).

If you need a hard copy, please print a copy from the website as no hard copies of the full program will be provided onsite. Or download the Congress app for the most up-to-date version!
As part of your registration, you will receive access to the on-demand content. The on-demand will be available within 24 hours for live streamed content (Plenary sessions Sat – Tues and Ocular Trauma Workshop) and within 2 weeks for recorded sessions. The content is available (dependant on the speaker permissions), until Wednesday 25 January 2023.
People’s Choice Award
In addition to the Best Papers, Films and Posters Awards, The People’s Choice Award will recognise the Best Poster and Best Film as voted by the delegates via a ballot box onsite. The Award will be announced at the Poster and Film Festival on Saturday 28 in the Exhibition Hall, so don’t forget to cast your vote!

Graduation & Awards Ceremony and President’s Welcome Reception
Welcome our newest Fellows and congratulate our college award recipients, trainers of excellence and examination medallists at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Continue the celebrations after the ceremony with drinks and canapés at the President’s Welcome Reception. All Fellows are encouraged to attend.

We invite you to use social media to promote the Congress and join the conversation! If you haven’t already, follow us on twitter and use the hashtag #RANZCO53rd for all Congress related tweets.
A parent friendly room will be provided for the duration of the Congress dedicated for those with young children onsite. The room will be set up with a live broadcast from the Great Hall 2 plenary sessions and selected concurrent sessions, allowing delegates to still tune into the Congress whilst attending to your children, with the comfort of lounges and easy chairs. The parent friendly room will available during the following times:

The Prayer room will be available from Friday 28th to Monday 31st October. The room is located in the VIP Suites, Room 3.

The health and safety of our attendees is our highest priority, and all delegates and participants will be required to comply with the COVID Safety Guidelines and protocols in place with all venues associated across the Congress which will be compliant with all relevant Government advice at the time of the event. Details of all protocols and requirements will be available on the website and clearly communicated to all delegates in the lead up to the event.
We have worked with the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre to protect the health and safety of attendees, staff, suppliers and our communities. Face masks will be made available and supplied by the venue for those who wish to wear them.
Virtual Delegate Information
Your registration entitles you to access the Virtual Attendee Hub to watch sessions live (where available) and access on-demand content. The content is available (dependant on the speaker permissions), until Wednesday 25 January 2023.
The site allows you to:
- Engage with program content, including participation in session Q&As
- Meet with other delegates, under the Community tab. Make sure your profile is ‘visible’ so that others can find you! You can do this by selecting your initials on the top right-hand side, clicking view profile and selecting visible.
- Browse on-demand content until Wednesday 25 January 2023.
We recommend you log in early to test your system and familiarise yourself with the platform.
Log-In Instructions
- When you log in, you will be prompted to provide your name and email address. Please enter the email address you used to register for this event.
- You will then receive a verification code via email and text message to access the Event Platform.
- Enter the verification code to enter the Event Platform.
NOTE: For privacy reasons, your login only stays valid for 72 hours. You will also be logged out after 24 hours of inactivity. To log back in, click the link below and follow the process to receive a new verification code.
Certificate of Attendance
Certificates of Attendance will be sent via email after the conclusion of the Congress.
